
Kalamata olives variety
The regions of Kalamata, Messinia and Laconia in the southern Peloponnese, are the places that the world famous Kalamata olives are grown. They are black or brown colored, almond-shaped, and have a smooth, meaty texture and are usually preserved in wine vinegar or olive oil.
